On Friday, February 13th (yes, Friday the 13th), we will be celebrating Shabbat as a congregation again at the Curry Coastal Pilot building in Brookings. Services on Friday night will start at 7:00 p.m. and will (as usual) be led by Rabbi Les Scharnberg.
On Saturday, February 14th (Saint Valentines Day
), we will hold another class on "Jewish Sacred Texts", which will, again, be held at the Curry Coastal Pilot building in Brookings beginning at 10:00 a.m. Fees for the class are $5.00 per session or $50.00 for the ten session class. Also, if you have not helped with membership dues in 2014, please consider that a "New Year's resolution". While we never turn people away for lack of funds, we expect and appreciate support at the rate of $150 per person or $300 per couple for the year 5775.For the remainder of the 5775 Temple "season" (through June), you can expect that we will hold Shabbat services and classes every second Shabbat of the month alternating between Crescent City and Brookings. So February 13th and 14th will be in Brookings, March 13th and 14th will be in Crescent City, April 10th and 11th will be in Brookings, May 8th and 9th will be in Crescent City and June 12th and 13th will conclude the season in Brookings.
Also, we are planning to hold our community wide Passover Seder on Saturday, April 4th so we probably should begin planning for that this month. Can't believe we're talking about Pesach already. Where does the time go?
Well, that should give everyone a "heads up" on when we will be getting together as a congregation and I hope to see you all in Brookings on Friday, February 13th.
