I just wanted to remind everyone that we will be celebrating Chanukah together as a congregation this coming Saturday, December 20th. This year, our party will be held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church (401 Fir Street in Brookings - lower level entrance). Festivities will begin at 5:00 pm and continue until the last candle is out (depending upon whether your candles burn for eight days or not - then, we might have to blow them out and leave).
As usual, the party is a potluck dinner and Vivian has been coordinating to be sure we have a variety of dishes (not ever a problem since there is usually too much food altogether). Families are encouraged to bring their family menorahs and we all light candles together - usually quite a show.
