The High Holidays

Shalom All,
    The High Holidays are fast approaching. I am going to give you the schedule of events. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 408 661-2283. My address is Susan Humphreys, 1130 US Highway 101, sp. 61 Crescent City, Ca.95531. Rosh Hashanah begins October 1st. Our  first service will be held that night, Sunday, at the Synagogue in Crescent City (956 J street) at 7:00 pm. The next morning, October 2nd, Services will begin  at 10;00am. They will continue until 12:00 noon when we will go down to the pier by the light house for Tashlich. (For those of you that are as ignorant as I am; that is the "ceremony" where we throw the bread crumbs into the water. So please bring a loaf of bread, if possible.) We are anticipating the timeline to be between 12:00-!:00 pm.
    Yom Kippur begins On October 11th. Again the service will be in Crescent City at the Synagogue at 7:00 pm. On Yom Kippur, it is traditional to wear white and to bring your tallit, if you have one. However, Your presence will be welcome regardless of what you wear. Also if you have a Shofar, please bring it...especially for the following day. Wednesday, October 12th the service will begin at 10:00 There will be a break around noon. The Yiskor service will begin at 6:00pm; followed by the Neilah. Please get me the names you would like included in the Yiskor service beforehand.
    I hope to see all of you there. I will have my purse with me, just in case anyone would like to give me a check for the dues. ( Hint...Hint!)
