Shalom everyone,
Shabbat services for March will be held this Friday, March 11th at the Temple in Crescent City (956 J street) and will begin at 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, March 12th, we will continue our class "The Torah - Inconsistencies and Survival" based upon two books - "The Book of J" and "The Jew in the Lotus". Class on Saturday will also be held at the Temple in Crescent City beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Class fees are $50/person (or $5/class) and are based on a ten session course.
We have now scheduled our Temple Beth Shalom Passover Seder for 5776. The seder this year will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at St. Timothy's Church, 401 Fir Street in Brookings. The seder is a pot luck and will begin at 4:00 p.m. Those who wish to help set up can show up at 2:00 pm. Much thanks to Vivian for securing the location for us and she will be calling to coordinate the food for the pot luck dinner after the seder. More about this in the coming weeks.
And, once again, I'd like to remind folks that Temple activities don't come without a cost and if one values what Temple Beth Shalom has to offer, financial support is necessary. While we never turn people away for lack of funds, we expect and appreciate support at the rate of $150 per person or $300 per couple for the year 5776. If you are fortunate to be able to give more, that generosity is greatly appreciated.
Wishing everyone a great week and I look forward to seeing you at Shabbat services and/or class.
B'shalom,
- Marty
