This Week at Beth Shalom

This is an important weekend at Beth Shalom. We will meet Friday at 7 at the temple, 956 J Street in Crescent City,for Shabbat worship.

Saturday, Torah study continues from 4:30-6 at the temple. This week we study a double section,Behar-Bechukotai, Leviticus 25:1-27:34. This is the last section of Leviticus. It contains the phrase from the Liberty Bell: " Proclaim Liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."

We will meet again on Sunday at 5 P.M. for a congregational meeting. I am stepping down as president of the congregation after two years. Our treasurer, Judi Lewis, has also been in office for two years and has relinquished her position. We need people to commit to continuing the life of our temple: to perform leadership functions, to oversee finances, lead services and plan events. The meeting should last an hour. Refreshments will be served. Let's come together as a community to plan for our future.
