This Friday night, December 10, we will greet Shabbat at 7 PM at the temple, 956 J Street in Crescent City.
Torah study is canceled again this Saturday. The parsha is Vayigash, the climax of the Joseph story, Genesis 44:18-47:27.
Friday nights at the end of the year include December 24 and December 31. We will meet as usual on December 24. On December 31, we will have a short service at 6 PM, then adjourn for dinner at a local restaurant as a group. Please join us!
Congratulations to all the participants for a successful Chanukka latke-fest and dinner last Saturday. I think we all felt a sense of community and left with full hearts and stomachs.
We are sad that Dr. Barbara Johnston, our board member and dedicated Beth Shalom advocate, will be leaving us this week. She is returning to her home in the San Francisco Bay Area to be with her family, and to start a new job. We wish her well.
Rose Munger has volunteered to be our new treasurer. Judi Lewis will continue as the third person on the board. Thanks, Rose, for volunteering, and congratulations on the new house. Thanks, Judi, for your continuing support.
Please contact me if you have ideas for new programs for 2011, or if you want to lead a service. The e-mail address is delnortebethshalom@gmail.com.
