Our Chanukah party this year will be a Chanukah Brunch and will be Sunday, December 13th at the Brookings Event Center; 800 Chetco Avenue in Brookings. You can get more information about the Brookings Event Center on FaceBook searching by that name. The Brookings Event Center is directly across the street from Les Schwab just before 5th Street coming from the south. It is in the corner of a little group of stores near Tangles Salon. The party will begin at NOON and anyone who would like to help set up, should come before that. Rabbi Les encourages anyone who wants to bring their family menorah to do so and we will be lighting EIGHT candles on the final night of Chanukah.
And, once again, I'd like to remind folks that Temple activities don't come without a cost and if one values what Temple Beth Shalom has to offer, financial support is necessary. While we never turn people away for lack of funds, we expect and appreciate support at the rate of $150 per person or $300 per couple for the year 5776. If you are fortunate to be able to give more, that generosity is greatly appreciated. And I should add that the earlier you make your contribution of dues, the less financial stress is put upon the Temple and planning for the year is made easier for all concerned. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration.
Be sure to "save the date" for the Chanukah party - Sunday, December 13th at NOON.
B'shalom,
- Marty
