Shalom's next kabbalah class with Rabbi Les Scharnberg will be on Saturday,
February 9th at 11:00 a.m. A new (and, hopefully, regular) location has
been made available to us at the offices of the Curry Coastal Pilot in
Brookings. The conference room there, also known as "Dewey's
Digs", is located on the lower level of the building at 507 Chetco Avenue
(corner of Chetco and Oak - traffic signal light). It is a large and
comfortable space with a separate partial kitchen area with fridge, microwave,
toaster oven, and coffee pot. There are bathroom facilities on the lower
level as well. Although Pilot staff will be working in the offices
upstairs, the conference room is downstairs and will be perfect for our needs.
It has a separate entrance at the rear of the building on the Art Walk
Alley side (red doors) for which we will have a key.
On Friday
evening, February 8th, we will hold Shabbat services with Rabbi Les Scharnberg
leading. Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the same
room as the kabbalah class the following day (Curry Coastal Pilot conference
room at 507 Chetco Avenue in Brookings). We had a great turnout for
services before the last kabbalah class so, hopefully, the Brookings location
will encourage more people to attend Friday night services. Come and see
for yourself the great new space we have located for Temple use.
