This Week at Beth Shalom

We will continue, for now, to combine Torah study with services Friday afternoon and evening. Torah study will be 4:30-6 P.M., we'll break for dinner, then come back for services at 7 P.M. All events are at the temple, 956 J Street in Crescent City.

The parsha this week is Shelach-Lecha, Numbers 13:1-15:41. This section tells the story of the twelve spies who scouted out the land of Canaan as the Israelites were camped near the border.

We are looking for volunteer service leaders this summer. Rabbi Scharnberg is off until the end of August. If you would like to lead a service, please send an e-mail todelnortebethshalom@gmail.com. Last week, we broke for dinner and ate at Denny's, which has a varied enough menu to accommodate all. The week before, at our Shavuot celebration, we brought in pizza and Jill made a salad from her garden veggies. Let us know if you have another suggestion, or would like to cater a dinner break.

The public school year ends this week. Congratulations to teachers and students alike on finishing the year.
