Beth Shalom Schedule for the Week of March 28th

With H-shem's ever loving kindness, we will meet at the synagogue at 956 J Street in Crescent City this Friday evening at 7:00 pm for Shabbat services. These will be lay services and all friends and congregants are welcome to attend.

We will meet to light candles, hear about some Torah and have a little kiddish as a community before we retire to our respective weekends.

The following Saturday morning at 10:00 am we will meet again at the synagogue for our weekly Torah study. Because this week is Pesach, we have some special portions to read, beginning with parshiot for the first and second day of Pesach (Exodus 12:21 - 12:51 & Numbers 28:16 - 28:25, Leviticus 22:26 - 23:44 & Numbers 28:16 - 28:25).  In fact, there is a separate portion for each of the eight days of Pesach, find the full breakdown here.  All of the parshiot for this week recount the story of our Exodus from Egypt.

I know that many of you have responded and are participating in our annual Pesach Pot Luck dinner this coming Saturday night at the Coast Guard Auxiliary Hall at the Crescent City Harbor.  It seems that this is shaping up to be our best gathering yet.  May everyone merit to find deliverance from their own personal bondage in the year to come.

This is being posted on the eve of the third day of Pesach, I hope everyone is having a "chag Pesach kosher v'sameach" (a kosher and happy festival of Pesach).

These parshiot are all about the actuall building of the tent, or Mishkan which would allow H-shem's presence to dwell among us.

This will also be the Shabbat before Rosh Chodesh Nisan as Pesach draws closer. So, Chodesh tov everyone!
