Shalom aleychem, l'shana tova umetuka!

Here are a couple of pictures I made at the Tashlich service we held at the Crescent City pier after our second day Rosh Hashanah shacharit service last Sunday morning.

This first picture is an exclusive for our Beth Shalom web site of Miriam and Vivian – who both worked so hard to bring us our successful fund raiser featuring music performed by Rabbi Les and David Isley – spotting some sea lions playing in the water.

Here we see Rabbi Les Scharnberg preparing to don his tallis before we perform the tashlich service.

G-d willing, Rabbi Scharnberg will be leading Yom Kippur services in Arcata this Sunday evening, September 27.

Rosh Hashanah Services This Saturday Evening

Shanah tova umetuka (a good and sweet new year) everyone! This post is to announce Rosh Hashanah services for the new year 5770. G-d willing, services will be held at our synagogue in Crescent City at 956 J Street this Saturday, September 19 at 7 p.m. Services will be led by Rabbi Les Scharnberg.

We will meet again Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for Taslich services. G-d willing, we will meet at the synagogue and proceed to the Crescent City pier to toss some bread on the water to remind us to cast away our sins and return to G-d.
