We had a great meeting to discuss parshah Korach last weekend. Ellen brought some of her delicious home baked scones and we all discovered some great insights from the story of Korach's rebellion against G-d's Torah in the wilderness.
The next meeting will be Saturday, July 11th in Fort Dick to discuss parshah Pinchas (Numbers 25:1-29:31).
This week we are reading a double portion of Chukas and Balak which is why we will be reading Pinchas at the next meeting. This double portion will also bring us back into sync with the readings in Eretz Israel.
As usual, please email us at delnortebethshalom@gmail.com or call David at 707.954.6559 for more information about our meetings.
Until then, have a great Independence day and shavua tov!

Summer Time Torah Study Continues
Chodesh tov TBSers and friends of Beth Shalom!
At the last Torah study in Brookings, we met at Barbara's apartment and discussed parsha Beha' alocha which covers many different topics relevant to b'nei Israel's travels through the wilderness on their way to conquer the land of Canaan. This included how the huge group was to move as a unit through the wilderness, the people's complaints about eating only the mana and Miriam and Aaron complaint against Moses which resulted in Miriam being struck with one of the skin conditions classified under the general term "tzaaras."
We also decided to continue with the summertime sessions with our next meeting to be on saturday 6/27 at 10am, in Fort Dick, at the Del Norte Ambulance classroom, when we will discuss parsha Korach (Numbers 16:1-18:32).
So, mark your calendars and bring your thinking caps. G-d willing, we will see you then.
