Return of the Rabbi

I'm just posting to report that I received a confirmation from Rabbi Scharnberg that, G-d willing, he will indeed be attending our next Shabbat Torah Study this Saturday, August 29.

We look forward to an enlightening reading and discussion about parshah Ki Teitzei Deuteronomy 21:10 - 25:19.

We can also take the opportunity to discuss plans for Rosh HaShanah. Until then, shavua tov.

Saturday Torah Study

Chodesh tov, everyone as we count the days to Rosh Hashanah. We've just begun the month of Elul and must begin to prepare for Rosh Hashanah when we complete our Torah reading and begin the year all over again. At 10:00 a.m. this coming Saturday morning, on August 29, we will meet at the Del Norte Ambulance building in Fort Dick to study and discuss parshah Ki Teitzei (Deuteronomy 21:10 - 25:19).

There was also a suggestion that we meet for lunch following the meeting. The restaurant is yet to be determined.

Summer Time Torah Study Continues

I'm just posting to let everyone know that there is another Torah study planned for this Saturday, August 15th at 10am in Fort Dick. We will be discussing Parshah (Torah portion) Re'eh covering Deuteronomy 11:26 - 16:17.

Also, I took some pictures of our Sefer Torah at the shul in Crescent City, so I thought I'd post one for everyone to enjoy.

Next, I am not able to contribute as much time as I'd like to maintaining our presence on the web so if anyone can help out in that regard please email me at cooperdavidc@gmail.com.

Finally, I hope everyone is having a great summer and that we will all see a safe return of Rabbi Scharnberg from protecting our national parks very soon.
