Temple Beth Shalom is proud to present The Dead Sea Drifters. Featuring our very own Rabbi Les Scharnberg and David Isley at the Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church in Brookings at the corner of Oak and Fir Street.

The show will begin at 7:00 pm and tickets are $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door. Advance tickets are available by calling Vivan at 541.412.7105.
We have an opportunity to sell snacks and refreshments to help raise money for the synagogue and we can definitely use some help setting up and tearing down. Please let us know if you'd like to volunteer to help or contribute some food or drinks to the concession stand.

Thank You All For An Unforgetable Pesach
Well, we rocked the Ship Ashore Rec Room like never before with a huge turn out. I don't know if anyone did an official head count but it looked like over 40 people. There was a ton of singing, laughing and story telling and lots of delicious food.
Here is an album I uploaded with some pictures from the event.
And now, here is the Kosher for Pesach Unleavened Popover Recipe from my mom.

And now, here is the Kosher for Pesach Unleavened Popover Recipe from my mom.
Baubie Sherman's Matzah Meal Popovers
2 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup Crisco vegetable shortening
1 TBSP salt
2 cups matzah meal
6 large eggs
Bring the water, sugar, Crisco and salt to a rapid boil.
Put 2 cups of matzah meal in a mixing bowl and carefully add the boiling water mix while stirring.
Add eggs one at a time mixing each thoroughly into the batter.
Spoon batter into a muffin tin filling each cup to the top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Then, reduce oven temperature to 325 and bake for another 20-25 minutes.
This recipe yields about a dozen popovers.
